Like Facebook, but hate the bloated interface and the applications? Well, looks like they are planning a Lite version of their system that will have more of a stripped down Twitter-like feel to it. More of a direct assault on Twitter, or a step towards a FriendFeed integration - the company they acquired earlier in the week.

After years of just saying “Google”, search engine competition is really heating up. Facebook shows it’s intent to crack the real-time search market by acquiring FriendFeed - a company of ex-Google engineers. Google counters with a preview of it’s new search engine which is code-named Caffeine.
